Cc101-The Virgin Adviser

(More characters from an old WIP-Wages of Sin. You know the drill, this is very sketchy. This is my work, please do not take it as your own. Rights reserved and all that good stuff.)

Tareq groaned. “What now?”

“Nothing, I just might have assumed you would take steps to preserve your kingdom instead of taking actions to destroy it, my king.” Genisia said, her smile a sickeningly sweet thing that caught in her eyes.

Tareq sighed. “Very well,” he said, as he settled back in his seat. This would, if nothing else, provide some entertainment. “What do you propose?”

The woman’s smile warmed considerably then, and she turned to address the table. “Gentlemen, Ladies. We have with in our dungeons one of the most lethal force known to our world, well, next to a natural disaster any way.”

Tareq frowned, she seemed to think her jest amusing but did not become self concious when noone else shared her in her amusement. If anything, it made her smile that much more genuine.

“I’ve heard none of this,” Said one. “Who’ve you managed to ensnare now? Torqueda? Dal’em? Mesume?”

Genisia’s smile tightened. It was a smile Tareq that reminded Tareq of his late mother, patronizing and encouraging at the same time, urging him to think of the answer on his own. “Warm,” she said.

The man’s brows lifted before one dipped lower. “Those are the top three most wanted men in all of-”

“Imogene, yes, but I was thinking on a much grander scale.”

Another, a lady this time, scoffed. “What is left but Imogene?”

The others nodded and murmured their agreements.

Genisia rolled her eyes. “Broaden your minds. Lady Bragga, who was the most wanted person before the floods of Bremadas?”

Lady Bragga thought on this for a moment, and then her eyes widened, her jaw hung loose. Her bottom lip hanging open. “Surely not…”

Genisia grinned, her teeth a brilliant white in the pristine lighting of the confrence room. “The Reaper of Deserisle. She Without A Name.”

Tareq bit back a curse as the confrence room sprang to life with ferver. Damn woman had caused an uproar and she was enjoying it.

In practice

Genisia, renamed many many times, was my first concious ‘Virgo’ character. She’s been with me almost as long as Klara, from the previous post, has. (Klara being my first character created ever, and good God the amount of times she’s been changed is unreal.) I’m dying to get back to WOS, but I know Dirge has to come first in this instance. I want to be “better” before I attempt WOS again.

In real life, I know a total of three Virgos. Two offline and one on. The two offline are definately Virgos in the extreme, and while I do see some traits in the Online Virgo I know, I have no way of knowing if any of the other stuff fits.

Say Lyra, what do you think?

Any Questions? Comments? Want to put me in my place? Notice any Virgo traits in your own Characters?  Have at people, floors all yours.

* Motto of the Virgo

** Taken from Born on a Rotten Day by Hazel Dixon-Cooper

** Wish I could take credit for this, but Linda Goodman’s excellent book on Sun Signs was the first to associated Alice in Wonderland quotes with the Zodiac. I picked the ones I liked the most of her selection.

Haha, I am definitely a Virgo through and through. Lol. I get mood swings seemingly out of nowhere, I prefer to be alone, am very very picky, I like doing things in order, I have to have a routine, I get angry if someone ruins my routine, I like to be neat and ordered. I hate when my room gets untidy, which it does a lot. I don’t mind cleaning, and my dear I can go on forever.

However, when it comes to my writing, I am very lazy. For instance if I make a mistake in my first draft, I will not go back and change it. That’s probably the reason I have failed at the editing stage so many times, I’m just too lazy. On the other hand I have good discipline and if I write myself a little schedule, I will stick to it. That’s what I usually do with my writing, and even my reading. If I don’t have a schedule to stick to, I will not read, or write, it’s as simple as that. Strange, I know, but it works. ;p

I don’t know if this is part of the virgo sign, but I love to work, and I also love to keep people happy. Although I like spending time on my own, when I am around people I am very aware of how they are feeling. I can pick up on even the slightest change in their attitude and can change my own to match theirs. I hate making people feel uncomfortable, and I am alright around people once I have got to know them. On the first meeting I can be rather quiet for the first maybe 20 minutes, but then I get loud and will talk your head off. Much like I do on the internet. I babble a lot, both when I’m posting on the net and when I’m actually talking to you. ;p

Nice posts by the way Soleil, I’ve never thought to create characters this way. Very intriguing.

Hah – I must have Virgo rising or something important in Virgo…or however that works… 🙂 the Perfectionist thing – that’s me, and the routine thing too… then again, could just be the Firstborn thing too. Hard to say.

I’m trying to think whether I have any Virgos… possibly Lars’ sisters (all four of them), although it’s hard to tell, since I’ve never had them on page (I don’t quite dare…).

Lyra- Trust me, you are anything but lazy about your writing. I know, because I’ve seen you plow through a first draft. *g* Maybe it’s because of your discipline/schedule, but hey, I figure if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it.

Bethanie- Very possible, especially if your Mercury happens to be in Virgo, since that is it’s the ruling planet. Something to look into.

Trust me, I could do so much more with the time I have to write on my novels. But I don’t, and sometimes that just really bugs me.

I will admit though, once I get something into my head, I follow it through. I’m very stubborn when I want to be, and it is extremely hard to budge me when I have made up my mind to do something.
