Destiny Entwined by Nadia Lee
When her lover Theseus deserts her on an island, Princess Ariadne of Crete wishes to forget her betrayal-filled past. Dionysus answers her prayers, seducing her with his godly wiles and delivering mind-shattering ecstasy. However, when he reveals that she’s his bride as foretold in a prophecy, she has to take a leap of faith, once more leaving her heart vulnerable to another, or live out the rest of her life on the island alone.
Full Disclosure: I didn’t pay a penny for this. The lovely Nadia Lee sent it to me for review. It says so in the review copy. “Prepared for Soleil Noir.” That’s like, all kinds of awesome. Hi, I’m a tremendous Geek.
This review will probably be brief as the story itself is not more than 16 pages, but that is not to say that I’m at all lacking in enthusiasm.
Destiny Entwined is the perfect bite-sized erotic romance. Every word has to count in a short story. Hell, every word has to count in any length of fiction, but especially so in shorter works. I loved how much lush description Nadia managed to pack in such limited space.
And, ok, so maybe I’m a tad biased, because again, tremendous geek who just happens to geek over Mythology. But you can’t tell meĀ no else wondered what happened after Theseus gives Ariadne the boot? No? Just me? Fuck. Ok. But as someone who wishes she could find a lover as loyal as Guilt, I completely related to Nadia’s portrayal of Ariadne.
Although, of course, I wish I could have spent more time in the story. And not just because of the fan-worthy scenes.
And guess what? If you subscribe to Nadia Lee’s newsletter before February 14th (Destiny Entwined’s official release date) you’ll receive it as a Valentine’s Day gift! How awesome is that? Totally better than Flowers for us bookworms. It’s also up on Amazon for those of you who miss the V-day special.
I’ll geek right along side of you…love myths!
Can always count on you Sherri.
Loved your “tremendous geek” comment! Anyway, I can see why you were excited. When a book is signed to you it’s extra special.
Caryn- How lovely to see you.
Thank you for stopping by, how’ve you been?
