Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen things I loved about Ironman!

*Spoilers below the cut! Don’t click if you haven’t seen the movie…unless, you don’t plan to. In which case? GO WATCH THE DAMN MOVIE!*

1. Two words: Hans Zimmer I was apparently mistaken, Hans Zimmer didn’t actually do the scores. His studio/company did. My bad.

2. Two more words: Comic geek (*grin*)

3. That damned Black Sabbath song is catchy as hell. I haven’t stopped listenning to it since. (”Ironman” by Black Sabbath for anyone interested)

4. The robots. Doby (?) and Butterfingers. :D They were like characters all on their own. So mischeivous and cute.

5. Obadiah was creepy as hell at some points. That double cross scene? Awesome.

6. I loved Pepper Potts. I loved Gwenyth Paltrow PLAYING Pepper Potts! You would honestly think this role would be beneath her. (Same with Mr. Downey Jr.) But she just OWNED it. Way better than certian other actresses playing certian other comic romantic interests.

(*cough* Katie Holmes *COUGH* So glad she’s not gonna be in The Dark Knight!)

7. Industrial Light and Magic. *sigh* I both love and envy those artists. They pay such close attention to even the tiniest of details. The Ironman suit was amazing, loved the lines, the flaps, everything! These are the guys that did Transformers, Star Wars (I’m talking about the original trilogy, I’m still trying to forget they made Episodes I-III)  and so many other good movies with CGI. They deserve major respect.

8. Robert Downey Jr. was fantastic! I loved his snarkiness. (Starkiness? *shot for chessiness* *shot again for insesient ryhming*) I can’t think of a better person to play this role. He had the look, (oooh, the look. I admit it, I found him incredibly droolworthy. Totally “did it” for me) the ‘tude, and the acting ability!

9. Ok. I did have one nit pick. What the HELL was that reporter lady doing in the implied sex scene? :P I know they were going for the whole “playboy” aspect of Tony’s life but I couldn’t help laughing my ass off at it. There HAD to be a sexier way to do that. Though I guess they were going for hilariously sleazy since they actually fell OFF the bed.

10. Hell, even Pepper’s incredibly tense almost-kiss was sexier than that. Oh Miss Paltrow, you make even awkward moments look good. Definately one of my favorite scenes.

11. Though, my FAVORITE scene was the Money shot. ;) The Tank Explosion from the preview. Fan-freaking-tastic!

12. Come on guys, there’s a REASON it made so much money (100 MIL!) in it’s first week and is continuing to do so. I agree I was extremely skeptic at first, but I was so very very wrong. I apologieze Marvel, you guys can actually make a good decision once in awhile.

13. For once, in a really long time, I’m hoping they do a sequel. Normally I’m very wary and end up thinking they couldn’t pull off anything better (Spider Man….oi. They could have done three more movies instead of jamming all that into one! You don’t give VENOM only 20 minutes of air time!!), but this movie gave me hope. I’m going to keep the faith for now. Damnit, I want more Tony/Pepper development! I don’t care that she didn’t end up with him in the comics. I want more mischievous robits! More giant freaking robots! More Ironman!

I might rent it some time in the future but it’s not something I’m going to see in the theaters. Happy TT.

I definitely need to see this one! I’m not usually into action movies, but everybody’s been talking about it.

    Hi,

Neat blog, this is the first wordpress one I’ve seen.

Haven’t seen Iron Man yet but will and I don’t mind spoilers, some movies I watch over and over again. See you at 2YN.

    I can finally answer back!

Pussreboots- Thank you! And yes, it’s definatly worth a rental, *shrugs* and who knows you might like it so much you want to buy it. Hopefully, but eh, might just not be your cuppa, which is cool. Thanks for stopping by!

Caryn- This, to me, is much more than an action film. …but then I’m a comic geek, so I might be a tad biased. I hope you enjoy it if you go see it!

Hanesya- HI Fellow 2yn-er! Thanks for stopping by. If it’s any indication, I’ve seen this movie twice and plan to do so again tomorrow with a friend. :D It’s gonna be a dvd purchase for sure when it comes out. Hope you enjoy it!
